How to start a driving school?

1. Call and ask for a suitable date to start your theory lessons or check TIMETABLE!
2. Make a registration by filling in the application form online or by face-to-face in your first visit or by calling us. Take your ID or passport with you!
3. All necessary documents, instructions and teaching materials will be given to you after your first visit.

How to get a Finnish B-category driving license?

Getting the B-category driving license in Finland includes independent studies, lessons in class and driving training. Independent studies include reading materials and exercising pictures of traffic situations online or at the site of the driving schools. The materials can be found in Finnish, English and Swedish. Learning the theory is an essential precondition for the acquisition of driving skills. The minimum limit for the B-category is 20 theoretical lessons, 30 driving lessons and 2 lessons of dark training in simulator. Each theoretical lesson is 45 minutes and each driving lesson is 25 minutes.

How long does it takes for getting a Finnish B-category driving license?

At minimum one month if you really have a hurry, otherwise it usually takes 2-6 months at your own pace.

When and where can I start my driving lessons?

The first driving lesson is only allowed to start after attending the first four theoretical lessons (lessons 1.1–1.4). It means you follow us in the first two mondays. We aim at delivering our best services to You, which means we reserve each driving time according to your time schedule. Driving lessons can be also started anyplace in the areas of Raisio, Naantali or Turku.

When can I take the theoretical test?

After the driving license permission is granted (at least 3 weeks after submission), all theoretical lessons are ready and you are at least 18 years old, you are allowed to go to theoretical test.

Can I order the theoretical and driving exams in the different language?

The theoretical and driving exams can be taken in Finnish, Swedish and English. If your language skill is not good enough to take the exams, you are allowed to invite a translator with you during the examination time. To book the theoretical exam without time limit, which takes 1 hour, costs 80 euros for the extra service of the Ajovarma Oy and to book the exam with time limit in all languages, which takes 30mins. costs only 26 euros.

How long the theoretical exam is valid? When shall I take the driving exam?

You are only allowed to take driving test after passing theoretical exam. The theoretical exam is valid for 6 months.

When can I get my license after passing the exams?

Temporary driving license must be obtained from the examiner within one month after passing the driving examination. This license will remain in force for two years. In other words, you should come back to driving school after half year to two years time and take the second stage of driving. The second stage of driving includes slippery road driving and 4 theoretical lessons. Also your driving skills are checked and advice for economic driving is given. What do I need to do if I have the foreign driving license?

It means you are going to change the Finnish (EU-) driving license. The best way to clear it out is to go and ask in person AJOVARMA located in Turku. Remember to take your passport and driving license with you! Read more FOREIGN DRIVING LICENSE

When you are granted for the permission of license change, in all cases you will need to take both theoretical and driving exams with driving school car. Please contact us 044 5401632 at once. We will provide you reading materials and web-based theoretical exercises, meanwhile the optional driving lessons can be arranged according to your practical driving skills in the traffic. We recommend 2 driving lessons (50 mins.) as a minimum driving before going to the driving exam with school car. Check the costs for the driving license change!
